VW recalls 30,000 Jettas to fix tailpipes
Volkswagen is recalling more than 30,000 Jetta sedans from the 2011 and 2012 model years because the tailpipes can stick out too far and burn people.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says on its website that stainless steel exhaust pipe tips installed at the point of importation can stick out farther than the factory-installed tailpipes.

If the tips are hot, people could be burned on the legs.

Documents on the website say Volkswagen received complaints of burns in July and began investigating.

you would imagine companies of this size will not only learn from their mistakes, but also from mistake made by others.

What are people doing near exhaust pipes in the first place?

Maybe they should recall all M16s because the barrel can burn soldiers if it's been fired for awhile...

Of course I do. But my legs are never as close to the tailpipes so that they'll get burned.

Getting burned by the tailpipes of your car just seems like a freak accident to me.

Typical terrorist VW owner tried to blow up a Jetta and burned his lips on the tailpipe. As I've always said, that's all these shitbox foreign cars are good for... Pack full of dynamyte, drive to a rival mosque, detonate. Who would actually use one as transportation?
