Marchionne Cancels German Chancellor Visit For Pending UAW Contract

In another sure sign that a deal is imminent between the United Auto Workers and Chrysler Group LLC, CEO Sergio Marchionne has flown back to the United States from the Frankfurt motor show, where he was scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Negotiators in Auburn Hills worked late into the night Tuesday, trying to put the finishing touches on a new national contract before the current agreement expires at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.
