Chevy Camaro ZL-1 Geared for Shift to Automatic Transmissions

I agree that most people prefer the automatic, but cutting out the manual buyers is silly.

The muscle car crowd isn't like the daily driver crowd. There will always be die hard muscle car fanatics that will prefer stick shifts over automatics and even dual clutch transmissions. No these people definitely aren't the majority of buyers, but to not offer the option will still create a sales decline.

I used to be a die hard standard fan, I have been in many bad situations off road with my under powered Toyotas, I remember doing a hill climb in my Toy in deep snow and after many tries I just made it, later the next day I was driving my friends 1/2 ton Dodge with an auto tranny doing the same hill, the auto with the torquey V-8 just walked up the hill, so autos have some huge advantages, I do prefer the auto now, I drove a VW passat with paddle shifters, I didn't see the point of using the paddles? Maybe for racing or some performance hill climb?

Bottom line is that these types of transmissions actually make the car FASTER. They shift better than most people have the skill to and your wife can drive them. It's the best of both worlds these days. Besides, apart from NASCAR, who even shift in professional motosports anymore? It's rare to see because the cars are faster with the double clutches.

i think automatics on sporty cars like camaro and mustang should not be offered, the only option should be either dual clutch or 6 speed manual.
