GM Stock Is Sinking At 22 And Change -- Would YOU Recommend Shareholders BUY or SELL?
Since General Motors' shares started trading again in November, it seemed that many folks believed it was the dawn of a new age. Its products were better than ever and the marque had seemingly come around. Or, so we thought.

Currently if you take a look at the latest stock price, GM shares ended the day at 22.43. That's a far cry from when it resumed trading last year above the 30 dollar mark and it's definitely far off from its highs at nearly 39.50 a share.

If you're into charts, you'd notice that in the past several months the stock has taken a brutal beating; however, in recent weeks GM shares have been gaining an itty bitty amount of steam.

With that said, you can trade this two ways: be confident that this is the early start of a rally and go LONG or you can enter in some SHORTS and hope you don't lose your shirt.

If you could give shareholders a BUY or SELL recommendation, what would you tell them?

Lol. Definitely wouldn’t recommend selling it when its down..Assuming you bought it at a higher price. A lot of European stocks are also down due to the fear that Greece may default.

GM is improving, and even if you hate them I would buy, because it is at rock bottom.

Why don't you short sell some GM shares then? Borrow the shares at this price, then buy/pay back the shares when GM shares do hit rock bottom.

you are right Ellard about the volt being an expensive POS, it will not save GM, if anything it may hurt them?

I'm glad it's just GM stock that's affected, and not the entire stock market! Whew, I was worried about my 401K for a second.

GM outsells every other car company in the world every month and currently earns $4.75 per share.
That's approx a 20% earnings per share when the stock is priced at $22.
That sounds like a pretty attractive price - and not a cause for panic selling.

Eldard...seriously, if you cannot add any meaningful, substantive comments, you really need to stay off this site. You are toxic and really need to get a life. Some of us are true auto enthusiasts and THAT is why we visit this site, not to read the trash that you post. And for the record, I personally don't feel as if you know enough about cars in general, especially the Volt, the label anything a TURD!

Truckman> You can't even afford a Volt!

If I really wanted to I could buy it cash, the Volt is a good concept, but poorly executed, to see a good hybrid google PML flightlink, mini Cooper, 640hp with 4 hrs of battery time, and 80mpg when the batteries run out, this mini is close to 10 years old and blows any hybrid away to be fair.

The PML flightlink won't give you 4hrs of battery time at 640hp :) Also, you have to realize that this electric mini is completely draining its batteries, the volt only drains to about 75% of full charge. This is to ensure the Volt lasts 8 or more years compared to a year or two before needing a new battery with the PML car.

Joe, this is what PML claims, 4 hrs of battery time, you may be ahead of us all as to how long it may last? I think the biggest argument against PMLS car is the cost of production$$ but sadly GM missed the mark with performance and economy numbers to be competitive, no matter how anyone looks at all of the hybrids the PML car still blows them all away, PML also convert Hummers to hybrids for the military.

Fair enough...however, they have not done anything to bring this to the masses, as GM did with the Volt. Yes, it may be cool technology and such, but it is not a cost-effective, feasible-enough technology to bring to the mass market. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but it's a way of conveying you don't care for a vehicle, rather than calling it a POS. Furthermore, the VOLT is a giant leap forward in electric technology and gives you a Plan B in the event of low battery power. Like it or not, the VOLT is a game changer in many respects.
