What Would Happen To The Autoworker If The UAW Goes Bankrupt?

What Would Happen To The Autoworker If The UAW Goes Bankrupt?
Bob King, the president of the United Auto Workers, has a problem: the labor union that credits itself with creating the American middle class has glimpsed the end of the line.

Two years after the wrenching restructuring of the U.S. auto industry and the bankruptcies that remade General Motors and Chrysler, the UAW is facing its own financial reckoning. America's richest union has been living beyond its means and running down its savings, an analysis of its financial records shows.

Unless King and other officials succeed with a turnaround plan still taking shape, the next financial crisis in Detroit may not be at one of the automakers but at the UAW itself.

UAW shares would be sold off and the UAW would net a weaker hold over wages etc.

"education lavel" ?

- ROTFLMAO !!!!! What’s an education lavel? That’s what you get for trying to knock people’s education LEVEL. I’d say that your education lavel (lol!!) needs to go up a notch or two.

The only reason why I mentioned it is because when you attack people’s education you better be spot-on. Or you end up looking like the fool that you look like now.

Your question should be, what would happen to the UAW without autoworkers. No autoworkers, no UAW plain and simple!

If the UAW shut its door, then the folks who are "represented" by those thugs would be forced to seek employment under market conditions, negotiate their own salary and benefits, and earn an income that's in like with their marketable skills. I speculate it would be a rude awakening for the vast majority of its member to learn how the real world works.

Hate corporations? They're the "American Way". Someone with a great idea gets the financial assistance of investors to fund him. He partners with others who understand his vision, and can lead and direct others. This bunch then hires hoards of people who, for the most part, *cannot* make a living through entrepreneurship, and therefore, *need* someone to give them money in exchange for their labor. Welcome to Corporate America.

For all those who hate corporations, I suggest you try striking out on your own and earn a living without them! Or better yet, form an organization in which you provide a livelihood for thousands using *your* set of values, rather than the corporate profit model. Most either don't have what it takes, or they fear that prospect of self-accountability (AKA "lack of employment security") worse than death.

To hate corporations is like a fish hating water. It keeps you alive. Well, at least until you evolve into a higher life form, and then you can live it without it.

Automakers could not blame him/her for decades of bad decisions and poor design.

In reality, they'll have to fight with Mexico and Canada for their jobs and loose a great deal of the benefits the union secured for them over the decades. This and Ford's steering will still suck, GM's interiors will still look cheap and Dodge owners will get to know their service coordinators on a first name basis.

If the UAW went bankrupt they would reorganize and still be able to protect the autoworkers they represent.
