CALIFORNIA AUTO SHOW: New Camry Real-Life Shots, Sonata/Accord/Optima Beater Or Official Car Of AARP?
When you really think about it, there are quite a few cars out on dealer lots that have been sort of, how do I put it politically correct, AGING.

One of which was the Toyota Camry, but for 2012 Toyota spruced it up quite a bit with an all-new look. Though I am not entirely sure it is readily apparent. Upon closer inspection, it actually looks like Toyota borrowed a lot of creative license from none other than Acura with its TSX.

This kind of has me puzzled considering the backlash about the rather bird-like beak of new Acuras. It's not like buyers are knocking each other over to get into an Acura these days. So why would Toyota give their high volume seller a similar kind of treatment? Beats me.

You also have to consider that this particular vehicle has some stiff competition in form of the Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima and Honda Accord. With that said, we're a little curious:

Is the 2012 Toyota TS...er...Camry a Sonata/Optima/Accord beater OR is it the official car of senior citizens?

Interior looks good but the exterior looks like Toyota did the same thing Ford did when they refreshed the fusion and called it all new. The exterior is just a revised front and rear fascia, while the interior is re-designed, like Chrysler did with the sebring when they changed it to the 200.

I'm glad Toyota got rid of the baby-blue-green trim color on the center console --- that was just, "yuck!"

Looking at the side profile, the new Camry looks like the 1st Cadillac STS on the Sigma platform.

From the pictures the new Toyota Camry look really good. Especially, the stitching on the dash it look really high up like a Lexus or Audi interior.

I think Toyota was really smart using the "If it not broken, don't fix it approach" Hey why mess up with a winning formula. I must said I look the way it look both the interior and exterior design. I can't wait to see what it look like in real life.

And now I can wait the return of the Toyota Supra with hopefully a twin turbo V6 with around 500+hp

The only thing the Camry beats its competition in is sales. They set all the dials to "Medium", do nothing poorly, do nothing spectacularly, and sell a zillion cars.

The 300 has 46% more power, while the hybrid Camry is only 28% more fuel efficient. What next, are you going to compare the 200 to the prius? lol

If Hyundai copies this sleeping pill on wheels then they need a good thrashing.

Why write a story about the new Camry and run photos of the last-generation car?

While the sales stake are high in this segment, this is a boring conversation based around a mid-life Camry facelift. The competition is huge in this category and Toyota better be accelerating the introduction of the next generation.

Camry is a very good and competitive car for it's category and price wise. Hybrid Camry is best in class.
