Mercedes-Benz Says C-Class Coupe Won't Help In Challenging BMW's Dominance Of Lower Luxury Sales
The ’12 Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe will account for just 10% of the nameplate’s U.S.-market volume, but those sales will deliver near- and long-term growth, a key brand executive says.

Though the all-new 2-door represents the first “true” C-Class coupe to arrive on U.S. shores, don’t expect the novelty to seduce C-Class sedan buyers, says Bernie Glaser, Mercedes-Benz U.S.A. general manager-product management.

"Challenging BMW's Dominance Of Lower Luxury Sales"?

- You sure you didn't mean "Challenging Lexus' dominace of lower luxury sales"?

Nahh, Lexus is clearly dominant in upper luxury sales. Wouldn't you say closer to Rolls and Bentley? ;)

Rolls and Bentley wishes that they could build a car a good as Lexus.

Funny how you don't say anything about the Lexus fans and their wild claims. One-way street I guess?

With a screen name of "JapanEngineeringNo1", I can see why you replied. LOL!! And if what I had to say was so bad, I would have been banned already (like several of the Lexus fans have). Get used to it or don't read it. I'll be here as long as they're retarded Toyota/Lexus fans here.

What's funny is how you don't have anything to say when a Lexus fan pollutes a non Lexus thread with Pro-Lexus crap. With the name "JapanEngineeringNo1", I can see why you don't say anything to them. One way street.

@JapanEngineeringNo1

Shut up you whiney baby. If you've never seen retarded posts from lexus/toyota here then you must blind. Either that or you don't see the posts as being retarded because you are one of them (or at least sympathtic towards the retards). Either way, you aren't paying attention. Look at the posts from user "BlackDynamite" and you'll find plenty of retarded Pro-Lexus posts.

Deboosts? who cares?

More about deboosts. When you have guys like angryinch with 8 seperate accounts, it kinds of makes the De-boosts thing irrelevent.

You keep brining up education. Am I writing a freaking term paper?

Education doesn't have anything to do with that fact that you said that "Sorry, kiddo, but I have never really seen this Lexus "fanboy" as you call it and act like you do." Which is either extremely naïve or you’re lacking in basic reading comprehension. I’m not surprised though. Being a Toyota fan can cloud your inputs. Did you even look at any of BlackDynamite’s posts? LOL!!

Name calling? Are you for real? Didn’t you say that I was a "child with mental issues" first? You were the one who started with the name calling. If that isn’t being a hypocrite, I don’t know what is. What does that say about your education level? (Resulting to name calling an all). So not only are you lacking in reading comprehension, you’re also a naïve hypocrite who's input receptors appear to be somewhat clouded. How’s that for name calling :)

"sorry lexsucks, but apparently he got to you." — Joe_Limon

- No he didn't. He was the first to start with the name calling. Which makes him a hypocrite. Or did you miss that? Or maybe you both don’t consider calling an adult a “child with mental issues” name calling? What is it? Since he resorted to name calling first, doesn’t that mean that I got to him?

I missed that. But is that really all it takes to get you to reply with.

"Shut up you whiney baby."?

Damn right you missed it. What do you mean is that all it takes? I'm not allowed to retaliate? Geesh

Calling someone a whiney baby isn't anywhere near as insulting as saying to someone that they have "mental problems". Yet you only cared to comment on my response. Funny.

From the looks of it, more like challenging the Honda Accord coupe.

BMW in North America, particularly the 3er coupe, has this image of being a sporty premium car for the young folks. That sort of image is hard to shed and is one of the reasons why the 3er coupes/convertibles have such appeal.

I like the new C class coupe but these days I am looking for practicality and interior space rather than styling.

Almost half of the sales of 3 series the last month were 3 series, C is just a quater of the MB sales, So I agree with the statement ....

It does look accord coupe like! But the underpinnings are still excellent and better than the accord.

The styling doesn't work as a coupe. Maybe it is because a C Class coupe was never planned from the beginning but later added to steal some sales from 3 Series. Same case as IS cabrio which was also added much later.

Took possession of a C-Coupe a couple of weeks ago. It drives fantastic, interior fit and finish is top notch and getting compliments all the time. WHo cares if it doesn't take anyone's crown? Different cars for different tastes....

There's no 'luxury' under $50K. They just don't feel 'luxurious'.
