Panel Questions If Ford Pulled Critical Bailout Ad Because Of White House Pressure
The chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform committee wants Ford Motor Co. to explain why it halted an advertisement that was critical of the government's $85 billion auto industry bailout.

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., has asked Ford President and CEO Alan Mulally for "a full and complete explanation of Ford's decision to stop running the advertisement."

The ad featured the unscripted comments of a Ford owner named Chris, who was critical of the bailout of General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC.

I'm not surprised the Obama Administration would try to intimidate others to get their way or target a particular business for reprisals. Just recently, the Obama Administration threatened Boeing for attempting to create a factory with thousands of jobs in a non-democratic/union controlled state. They tried to coerce generals to lie at hearings so that preferential treatment would go to an Obama campaign contributor invested in a telecom startup (Lightsquared). They subverted rules to funnel half a billion dollars to failed solar company, Solyndra (and others). Meanwhile, pro-Obama corporations like GE get away with paying nothing in taxes. Corruption pure and simple. Thankfully, we have a few politicians like Darryl Issa who are willing to step up and confront gov't corruption.
