When Does Mimicking Become Piracy - Should The Chrysler 300's New Tagline Be
It was only a couple of weeks ago that Chrysler came out and started talking up the all-new 300 and a nifty new feature.

That, my friends, is an all-new eight-speed autobox, which should -- in theory -- deliver better fuel efficiency. To be quite honest, that's a great thing. We know that drivers over the past 24 months have become extremely aware of new cars and their respective mpg ratings, this can only do good things for the new 300.

But there's one thing that every publication has seemingly ignored. If they haven't, then I haven't seen it.

Notice anything interesting about the new eight-speed gear shift?

If I didn't know any better I would say that Chrysler took a little creative license from Audi and the flagship A8. Not that this wouldn't be the first time one brand became "inspired" by another.

Between the shifter, the leather trimmings becoming more prevalent inside the 300 and the LEDs up front, should the Chrysler 300's tagline be "the best Audi made in America?"

Or should it be the best caddy ever? Cadillac was a luxury brand before Audi, and came out with led lights first.

Regardless, somehow I doubt Audi was the first to have a gear shifter which looked like this before.

early 90's bmw 7 series and 5 series had gear shifters that looked a lot like these

Eldard lighten up. This I hate America rant is getting old and stale. If you haven't noticed Chrysler is now controlled by Fiat. Also the automobile industry has always had an imitation is the sincerest form of flatery attitude.

Yeah, its straight thievery on Chrysler's part, but I guess they took the eye for an eye route due to Audi making a very similar commercial as Chrysler.

"If the Koreans did it Y'all would be celebrating their great engineering! ROFL"

Yup. Same as you can see the Tundra, Lancer EVO, Citron DS4 and VW Iroc's face but since they're not Korean no one says s**t and pretends it orginal..... now you know how I feel. Same goes for the sides of the 2012 Nissan Versa and Mazda 3. No one says nothing. Let it be the Kia Versa oh, "Kia is alwasy copying can't they design something orgianl?" As if every one else was. Like the Citron design not being a rip off the Outlander.

Hey Huu76. What happened I thought only Korean's reverse engineer? What's this? Chrysler ain't doing nothing new neither? Huh? Hell blazing boy thinks it ripoff the A8. Funny Huu76 makes it seems every brand brings up totally new technology to the kitchen table but Hyundai. Every brand ain't supposed to reverse engineer but totally orginal and new features but S.Korean cars according to Huu76. I guess the Toyota Pixie Space is an all orginal and never been seen before in design too right huu76? Come bring it on. I just saw every car at the 2012 Frankfurt Autoshow. You know want me to list 50 non-Korean look alikes. I'll put hyperlinks up for you too since your eyes are so biased in thinking the Pilot's backend is totally different from the XB's back.

in Australia the 300C had a Benz diesel that North America did not get and EPA 26mpg city 42mpg highway. The 2012 300C will get a new V6 diesel from a collaboration of Fiat powertrain and VM motori. This v6 diesel was developed for gM and when the economic crisis happened they stopped the engine so Fiat picked this engine up and put their injection system called multijet in it and this v6 diesel is 235bhp 4000405lbft 1800 and could get 50mpg in the new 300C

eldard...do you ever have anything nice to say about anyone ? Why do I have the feeling you live in a country where freedom and liberty have come at the cost of blood shed by those you redicule. You pick on Canadians, Americans (its spelled AMERICA not Amerika!), Asians, etc
etc. Nobody seems to escape your venom. Maybe I shouldn't blame you...but your parents for not teaching you better. I feel sorry for you.

Another rediculous article another day, For one Audi doesnt build the 8 speed transmission it sources it as does Chrysler so thats not copying....., Lexus has had an 8 speed for how long now its nothing new, Cadillac did LEDs before Audi, and if we are talking copying tell Audi to give Chrysler back its early 2000 models grill from the LHS, Sebring, stratus coupe, and numerous concepts

Lol, "Americans can copy if they want because the Germans have copied off of them. People even copy Japanese cars now."

I know like how the Luceren's tailights copied the 2006 Mazda 3 sedan's. I'm jtz, car designs are my forte. I bet you didn't even see that did you huu76?

"Especially when you educated us that the Genesis Coupe is such a failure, it only sold 39 units from Jan through June of this year."

Yeah whatever, find me hyperlink to prove it? Otherwise like I said a month ago, STFU if you can't find a hyperlink.

Hey angryinch1. Don't worry, the Veloster is debuting to kick so ass. So bring it on angryinch1!!! If the Genesis series is such a failure, why is the Genesis still here and the G8 ain't? Huh? Let me know if you need me to find a hyperlink to prove that Pontiac is dead like Saturn ok? Genesis coupe 39 ytd my ass. That's just some bs you guys made up and can't find a hyperlink to prove it. Making that weak BS up. That is so weak and so corny. If they only sold 39 Genesis coupe, why is it that I see a genesis coupe like every other week? Plus there were a lot of them when I went to California August this year. Landcaster and Plamdale Cal.
