The 44 mpg 2.0 tdi diesel should cover that

30 mpg city is better than any other car in its class. And it is very under rated.

BlackDynamiteMB,
So why are you so concerned and continue posting garbage? I would rather have a Passat anyday before a Camry. Every loser in town who wants an appliance for car owns a Camry and this is coming from someone who owns a Lexus. LoL!

Getting past the insults or one upmanship lets have an intellegent conversation here. The question mark with Camry is how many new customers will Toyota bring into the fold with this new Camry? In the past 3 yrs Toyota has gotten some terrible PR. Part of this is due to their own making and part of is media hype. In any case Toyota reputaion has been somewhat damaged. But Toyota for yrs has cultivated it's current customers. Their loyalty has been second to none. Now Hyundai has come a long way in the loyalty stakes to even match Toyota. My issue with the Camry is that it's exterior styling makes look too much like a bigger Corolla rather then an upscale looking car. From what I;ve read it is a better car then it's predessesor in all areas. The question is how well it will sell given the market place and Toyota's stumbling issues the past few yrs. The same argument could be made of the Passat that it looks too much like a Jetta. The thing is from the outside the Jetta looks more upscale then a a Corolla so perhaps the Passat can get away with this.

Actually all 3 look like appliances (Passat,Camry and Impala) but being the type inconspicuous consumer I am, I personally would purchase the Passat, a LOT less of them on the road.

Just proof that we Americans know nothing about cars. They make it cheaper and less driver oriented, doesn't handle as good, less feedback, isn't as stylish, cheapened interior that is not as well built as the previous one and it sells better. No wonder American cars sold so well from the 70's - early 2000's despite how unbelievably poorly made they were.
