Can Bentley Lead The Class With It's New V12 Powered SUV?

Bentleys new SUV will reinforce its ambition to be the world’s most luxurious 4x4 with a flagship model that’s powered by a 12-cylinder engine.

“We will be first to use a 12-cylinder petrol engine in a luxury SUV. I like this idea; it makes clear whose car is the boss,” said Bentley CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer.

The engine is likely to be a next-generation version of today’s W12 unit used in the Continental family.

Dürheimer said he likes the packaging advantage of the W12 compared with a V12, although the SUV’s engine bay is likely to be designed to accept a vee engine as well.

Agreed, the real version has to look better. The news of a new W12 is exciting though.

But admit, even something looking like that would still sell very well in the US --- Bentley profits would overflow.

The Lexus LX leads the class. That isn't going to change anytime soon.

Yet another brand betraying its non-SUV roots for cash. Porsche, Maserati, and now this... yuck. I'd take a CTS-V or E63 AMG wagon over this any day.

It will be a guaranteed hit, though. I'm frankly shocked that nobody has made a hyper-luxurious SUV such as this yet.

They can lead If the class is based on price only. They could never keep up with the numbers on other luxury brands.

I would assume that at over £140k or $180k that Bentley WOULD BE the Class.
