Cash Strapped California Denies Public Votes On Red Light Cameras
California Governor Jerry Brown (D) sided on Friday with red light camera companies and the remaining municipalities that use automated ticketing machines. He vetoed a measure that would have placed the mildest of restrictions on photo ticketing.

"I am returning Senate Bill 29 without my signature," Brown wrote in his veto message. "This bill standardizes rules for local governments to follow when installing and maintaining red light cameras. This is something that can and should be overseen by local elected officials."

That is disturbing and a sign of the hypocrisy of politicians. A proper check and balance is needed for any security measure the govt takes.

1911, I used to think I was a Republican supporter until I realized that they are only for the extreme rich, are you extremely rich or just not up to speed on the corruption, then again the Democrats do almost exactly the same as the Republicans because they are all controlled by the money people, The difference is the Democrats would like to do what is right but have no control,I would support Ron Paul,I am sure he is supporting the protesters isn't he? And the Government in North America is way too over paid, and why would the Gov allow a private company to rob you? As Americans how can you still state that you are free when you are being robbed from the rich and the Gov? The Republicans would blame the poor, even educated people are working in Starbucks, while these bankers freely rob you, they even feel entitled to do so with no consequences, how can you support that? Soon all of America will be Democrats because 98% of you will be working for min, wage at some chain, and nothing will change, then you will get a ticket in the mail by some rich company... will the middle class ever win? Millionaires are the new middle class if you didn't know.
