Ford UAW Contract Vote Meeting Lukewarm Results As Many Expected More Rewards

Mixed voting by Ford Motor Co. workers continues as two more large locals report results of their ratification vote on a tentative agreement between the automaker and United Auto Workers.

Workers at Local 228, which includes about 2,000 workers at Sterling Heights axle plant, voted strongly in favor of the agreement.

Production workers were 66 percent for the deal and the skilled trades were almost 65 percent yes.

But workers at Local 551 in Chicago rejected the pact, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Does the UAW realize the state of the economy? Next year the economy is expected to get worse. I can't believe the UAW would reject this contract. There are so many unemployed people. They would be more than happy to get those wages and benefits. Ford has commited to add thousands of jobs, which would help out the economy.

THEY NEED TO BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT THEY GOT!!!
