The BLUTEC is definitely a good idea, and should have been released a long time ago. I mean if the Prius would replace the gasoline engine with a diesel, that would give the car atleast 50% more mile per gallon. This is common sense, why hasn't it been implemented.

Interesting.
Personally, I look forward to their diesels. MB makes some excellent diesels together with their German competitors in Europe. I'd love to see more of them here.

geesh....no one liked my submittal on this. :)
Anyways, like I said in that one, I would take a diesel anyday. Especially the new cleaner engines. It will be a whole new comarison ball game.
Hmm, a diesel 750il. Potential anyone?

I'd say a luxury V12 diesel will have close to ZERO potential. A diesel engine is designed with economy in mind foremost. A V12 diesel will defeat this purpose.
I travel to Europe regularly for business reasons and I never see any BMW 740d's or Mercedes E420 CDI's. And I have to visit some of the wealthiest areas within Europe. The biggest diesels you see are 530d's (535d's, have not seen one at all), A6 3.0 TDI's and the E-Class E320 CDI.
While a V12 diesel might not work in Europe, I also doubt its success in the US. Americans are simply not accustomed to diesels having such performance. A shame the Europeans are taking their time bringing over the diesels. Hurry up America and change over to cleaner diesel fuel!

Knowing DCX they'll be claiming they invited the hybrid soon. Afterall they claim to have invented the minivan (Fiat).
