AMG Envy?  BMW M Division Tries To Convince Management That SLS Killer Is A Must

BMW’s M performance division would like to follow its Mercedes-Benz AMG rival and create its own bespoke car, product development chief Albert Biermann has revealed. Mercedes’ AMG performance offshoot was responsible for the SLS supercar and Biermann admits that it’s a path he’d like M engineers to follow, although BMW has yet to be convinced of the business case.

“From an engineering perspective, we have the skills and we’d love to do it,” he told Autocar. “We’ve discussed it several times but we’ve never been able to make the business case. Everything we do has to make money.”

I believe they are capable to create an SLS competitor, but a an SLS Killer, I doubt so. Specially for the philosophy of them, completely different. I see a good and very expensive performer not as luxury and comfortable as the SLS but better performer and better price. BMW fail to create an SL in the same way as MB fail to create and M3. but both manufactures are starting to have almost the same performance and Luxury level... Hopefully they will convince them. I wish something like an M1 with TTV8..... it should be amazing.
