Want To Know What UAW Members REALLY Think? Simply Look At Their Facebook Page

To read the “UAW Chrysler Talks” Facebook page is to peer into the hearts and minds of union members agonizing very publicly over their hopes and fears for the future.

It makes for some fascinating reading because these debates were formerly confined to the union hall and factory floor. Emotions are running high, and livelihoods are at stake.

Anxiety has grown during the last couple of days as several plants have voted against the proposed Chrysler-UAW agreement, which gives Chrysler workers less than their General Motors and Ford peers received. If Chrysler workers vote against the contract, their future will be in the hands of an arbitrator because of a no-strike clause.

But from what I have read the Social Security cost of living increase was better than what the average UAW worker will see overall. The biggest problem was what the were used to vs what they should really be getting.

The IT bubble a decade ago was very similar. Some people got paid six digits for work now that is now worth $40K.

Boo-hoo! The poor UAW guys are agonizing about their future. They'd like a nice secure one, but that's elusive. Welcome to the REAL world, in which us regular folks live, without an entitlement to a job. Most of us folks have to get by on our own smarts and wit and resourcefulness and skills, as opposed to hired thugs who "represent" us.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not complaining about my life. In fact, I love it! I just don't have an ounce of sympathy for those cry-baby parasites call the UAW. In my mind, nobody is entitled to a job, and nobody should have the "right" to hold a gun to an employer's head while calling that "negotiations," while removing the employer's right to choose the employees they want to have working for them. And it seems a lot of US businesses agree, as more and more manufacturing is moving off-shore, while the UAW membership continues to decline.

Meh!!!

Agent009,
Your obsession with the UAW is becoming dangerously close to a disorder but then again you have constantly exhibited high tendencies of mental instability. Enough of your ejaculation on the UAW, get a life.
