STUD or DUD: Is Audi's Edgier A4/S4 Refresh Going To Be Able To Go Toe-To-Toe With The 3-Series & C-Class?
For 2012 both BMW and Mercedes-Benz have given both of its high volume products -- the 3-Series and C-Class -- updates. BMW's approach encompasses an entire new generation with all-new technology while Mercedes is more on the same track as Audi. Benz simply gave the C-Class a refresh.
With that said, will Audi be able to fend off both German competitors with its edgier take on the A4?
No longer is the A4 saddled with curvaceous lines and rounded off headlights. Now the A4 wears a more stern look as if it's asking "Are you talking to me?" like Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver.
Take a look at our FULL photo gallery and let us know:
Is the 2013 Audi A4/S4 a STUD or a DUD?

"Is Audi's Edgier A4/S4 Refresh Going To Be Able To Go Toe-To-Toe With The 3-Series & C-Class?"
Audi has elevated subtlety to a new art form. With that said, still a stud!

Need to see the S4 with bigger wheels before passing final judgement (unless those are the 19s)
I hope that S4 flat bottom steering wheel makes it to the US.
New MMI looks cool.

Those are 18's probably the wheels offered on the premium plus model.

Lol, as boring and predictable as ever. Plus the new 3's interior has upped the game.

even the older A4 is more contemporary looking than the new 3 series. The interior of the 3 series is barking big time. Nothing new there. The console detail that takes a right turn up the dash is just plain bad. Just a little too hokey. I've seen the new A5 up close and it is gorgeous so I think the A4 will look great too

Dud, the exterior looks like a step back, while the interior looks dated.

Well for "me" the new 3 series looks boring and outdated already. Specially the hood that looks like it was designed to wrap the engine and that boring lancer look and almost the same think inside. A4 looks better and the refreshed C is the best looking car in that class "for me". It looks more aerodynamic and the reports say that the quality and reliability is the best in class. New V6 3.5 with around 300 hp without turbos is great, so imaging modified.

Meh.....
Will have to see it in person- the A5 refresh didn't look as bad once I saw it IRL....

I like it. Handsome and elegant without being to revolutionary in terms of design. Perfect for those who want a premium car that blends in.

Oh dear that is unoriginal, it looks like the new 3 will be my next ride.

I don't like the way this car looks anymore. They have changed the edgyness I use to like.

After seeing the A5/S5 this front end design was expected but would have liked more styling changes especially at the rear end and interior. But overall it is a very handsome and balanced design and to me looks better than refreshed C class and way better than new 3 Series. STUD.

Couldn't agree with you more. I own a new A6 and love it. Materials and workmanship are top notch. Wife owns a 2011 3 series and we will NOT be buying a new BMW soon. The ugly dash in the new 3 series with the cinnamon twish dash and cheap plastic everywhere is a huge disappointment. Won't be buying one of those soon.

Looks feminine, it’s going to struggle to stand out in this segment, but I guess there has to be boring cars for boring people.. The C class and new 3 look much nicer IMO.

I don't like the way Audis drive at all...but the a4 does a good job making the new 3 series look remarkable.

love the S4, but just a regular a4 2.0-3.0 i think looks worse than a 328i- 335i, as far as upshifting and downshifting i think bmw has it the right way, to down shift pushing forward is the right way.....

It's a good effort for a face-lift, but not a patch on the new BMW 3 Series. AUDI will have a lot of catching up to do with the next generation A4.

Looks bland and uninspired. The whole Audi brand looks way too much alike. Grow some balls Audi. LED's can only take you so far.
