Audi, BMW, MB Give Their Entry-Level Premium Cars Updates - Where's Infiniti With The All-New G?
Only so long ago Nissan's Infiniti was selling entry-level premium cars like mad. The G35 started it all and was soon followed up with the more powerful, and nicer G37. It captured all of the motor industry's attention because it had tremendous value for what you received AND it drove really well.

But in the wake of the refreshed Audi A4, all-new 2012 BMW 3-Series and revamped Mercedes-Benz C-Class, you have to wonder:

What happened to the Infiniti G?

While it use to hotly battle for first place in magazine contests, it seems to have fallen by the wayside. Sure, Infiniti launched the IPL G Coupe -- with a convertible on the way -- but it seems to have become an also ran in this category.

All of the G's well-earned respect and buzz has seemingly disappeared, which has us scratching our heads and wondering when the updated product will be on its way. We haven't seen any updated spy images or heard of any new changes in the pipeline so what gives?

Nothing wrong with the G.

Performance: Same as the best in class the 3er
Exterior: boring as all cars in its class
Interior: its all right just all cars in its class

its performance is below that of the S4 and 335i
its interior materials and quality are not worthy of a premium badge
and overall lack of refinement is more 370z than luxury car.

seriously. 00R just stirring up the pot like always. 00R, you work for Autospies, go find some SPY SHOTS of the upcoming G rather than ask us about them. why the name "autoSPY" if you don't have a spy of your own, oo1?? sure you're making your millions from other people's work and it's cool but seriously when are you going to step it up and get us some exclusive material to make our Friday?

How many times have we seen a car maker ride a wave of popularity well beyond its crest, fall behind and then play catchup with a hurry up
product development program. Its not a winning formular but its because
complacency sets in or fear of what to do next. The opposite approach is why the BMW 3 series stays on top.

Who said they were rushing the next G? If anything their taking their time with it to get it right. Besides the car still sells well.

Since the release of the G37, they have added a convertible, the IPL Package, as well as a G25. The car has also received subtle exterior/interior changes. Why not bash Cadillac for not updating the CTS? Or Lexus with the IS-series?

Not to mention, the Infiniti G is still selling well. We're all curious as to what's coming down the pipeline in terms of the next generation G, but I definitely wouldn't cite this as a Infiniti riding "a wave of popularity only to play catch up with a hurry-up product development program."

Cadillac has been updating the CTS. If you were a fan, you would know that. #justsaying

The BMW 3 has looked the same for decades. And if you're going to talk about interior quality, everyone knows BMW has horrible quality inside. All headliners falls down, the door trim fades and flakes away after 4 years and the trim pieces are crackly. Not to mention every BMW you ever sit in says the same warning light, rear tail lamps not functioning. Let's get off our soap box on what a European car is and is not. Quality is not one of them, hence their are last in quality in the Consumer reports.

The G is getting redesigned in 2013, more than just a refresh like the C and A4...

Wanted to like it; not real happy with the styling changes from the first generation. Went to test drive, not impressed; moved on.

There were some rumors a few months back of why the new G has been delayed from Motor Trend I think, not sure how accurate those were.
