Great look at the build quality!

It's been said before on this site that the old or rather previous generation MB are of the best quality cars (and MB for that matter), ever made.

And I agree. They may not have all the technological advacements and wonders of a fully loaded S500/S550 and look as 'sharp', but it is one hell of a better car.

And the fact that MB does recognize they have a quality problem (i.e., their current vision to build on quality not quantity) is a major step for a car maker to take. Now I don't believe that the current generation MB have major problems and are in the shop more often, but like all car makers; they have their issues. Heck, we all know that Audi used to have horrible quality problems especially here in the States. They have worked hard to build their quality back up.

Give me an old lady anyday! They'll love you more than any new model.

Makes me sad since mine was rear ended and the insurance opted to total it out instead of fix it (Said it was too expensive) I wish I still had my E320 Sedan. I t was indestructible and never showed its age. The last of the true, real Mercedes-Benz.

Still pisses me off that these guys took this car and wasted it for the sake of a quality test. Just seeing them on the street after all these years is proof enough.

Or, take a trip to North Africa. There, 90% of taxis are older Mercedes', yes, even some from the 1950s! That's proof enough. This car they wrecked could have made it into a museum in the future, or been bought by someone who wanted an old soon-to-be-classic Mercedes. What a waste...
