No it's because of the Thailand floods.

Seriously, sales seem to have leveled to what would be expected. A slight decrease that can almost be entirely attributed to the aging RAV4 and the model changeover of Camry.

Meanwhile the LS and CT top their classes in the luxury dept. And Corolla tops the compacts (I'm shocked, too). Too bad the Camry just gets edged by Accord. That won't be the case next month.

I think Toyota is pleased with these results.

I thought that the Thailand floods affect 6000 vehicles per month total in the USA, and any affect the floods have will be seen next month as vehicles made before the flood were still being shipped to dealerships for the rest of the month.

Do not forget about the flood in Thailand. I see many older people driving Hyundai now. Wonder how many used to own Corollas or Camrys. Aunt had two Nissan Sentras and now she drives a Kia, due to costs.

Hatred?

LOL we currently have a Lexus in the stable...err shop right now. BTW The issue was the starter battery. The extreme heat did in quite a number of them down here. The dealership says they have been replacing them right and left, but most are under warranty. It would have been under $200 if if was out of warranty. They are also replacing the 4th TPS unit today. The only other one is in the spare.

From Automotive New today:

Toyota Motor Sales didn't see an October sales gain as Toyota Division General Manager Bob Carter had predicted a month ago, but it came the closest it has since the March earthquake in Japan slashed production and crimped U.S. dealer inventories.

"Looking ahead, we're sticking with our fourth-quarter goal of exceeding year-ago quarterly sales," Carter pledged today.

009, are you high again!?! What was the point of this Lexus story of yours here? I mean, besides diverting attention from 1911 showing you have little to no standards.

"What was the point of this Lexus story of yours here?"

- To Prove that Lexus are the most reliable cars ever made, and that they do not have problems, ever.

@LexSucks

Thanks so much, but I already saw the point of 009's story. What I had asked was the point of the story HERE, in the middle of an argument about Toyota's inventories.

The biggest problem for Lexus is a generally aging lineup.

OK... Lifeless lineup of dull luxury appliances. Is that better?

Actually 009 is correct.
Pondosinatra, you are way off.
The LX is a few years old, and is a niche product.
The GX is pretty new, but it's not a volume seller.
The CT is new, and it is a sales bright spot.
The GS is about as old as Methuselah.
The RX is relatively new, and it also does sell well still.
The ES is aging, and sells far fewer than it did in previous years.
The IS is sporting cobwebs after its 3rd refresh, and sales are in the toilet.
The LS continues to do well as it is in mid life.

No surprise that Toytoa's sales are back to their "glory days". Word is out that Toyota is Japan's GM and we all the smart money knows what that means.

All that incentive money they're dumping on the hood of their cars hasn't gotten the job done. Too bad, so sad.
