Does Subaru's NEW XV Have A Shot Against The BMW X1 And Audi Q3 OR Is The Boob Overly Optimistic?

Does Subaru's NEW XV Have A Shot Against The BMW X1 And Audi Q3 OR Is The Boob Overly Optimistic?
According to our friends across the pond, there's going to be a new sheriff in town. While the BMW X1 has been enjoying outrageous success abroad -- and as we revealed earlier, it will be making it's way stateside for the 2012 model year -- now other brands are starting to realize opportunity awaits.

Now, Audi has shown off the Q3, which will battle directly with the X1. Considering Audi's hot streak as of late, it's pretty easy to assume that the Q3 will do well from a sales perspective.

However, Subaru has decided to pull a wild card move and will attempt to down the Germans with its latest offering dubbed the XV. According to Auto Express, Subaru is planning on using the XV to help DOUBLE its sales in the UK, obviously an ambitious goal.

If I were to gauge how successful the XV will be I'd wager that it'll do its job reasonably well, but I do have one misgiving over the boob's latest vehicle(s): the brand has really forgotten how to build a nice, luxurious interiors. The latest Subaru interiors are really dreadful, to say the least.

Aside from that, we know that Subaru products are built to last and that their remarkable all-wheel drive systems are really best in breed.

Assuming it prices in lower than the Audi and BMW, there's no reason why it shouldn't be a sales success.

Not bad looking. This should replace the Forester.

Subaru is trying to make a luxury trinket? This is a terrible idea, since most mini-luxo-ute buyers only care about prestigious badges and looks anyway.

I don't believe they're trying to build a luxury product, but they will try to eat away at Audi and BMW's marketshare, which could happen if its a compelling enough vehicle at the right price.

@JapanEngineeringNo1 - wait until you've actually driven both until you judge. And anyway, this is still in development, so what it will turn out to be like is still largely up in the air.

@Agent00R - how could someone compete with BMW and Audi without making luxury cars? You're not making sense here. By your logic, the X3 and CR-V are competitors.

Maybe, but for a lot of X1/Q3 buyers, the badge matters.
