Toyota buying GM wouldn't help unless their fired all of their employees, and rehired them all under toyota's more logical benifits package.

Toyota is probably more American than most GM cars are as far as content goes. Toyota would be an alliance not an outright purchase, each owning significant shares of each other, similar to Nissan, Renualt.
