There are certain aspects to owning a car that just can't be expressed. And when you're a gearhead, enthusiast, or whatever you'd like to call yourself, it's on another level.

For one family, they wanted to treat the man of the house to the ultimate gift - his original 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS.

Once owned for 20 years until the mid-1980s, the father had to let the car go since "times were tough."

Fast forward to 2011, the same year as Chevrolet's 100th anniversary, and blam-o, the car is back in its first owner's hands.

Nice car, had a 1966 Chevrolet Impala automatic 4D, 283 V8 engine, bought used 1969, third owner for $800.00, burgundy exterior and burgundy interior, unmolested never crashed, the behemoth was indestructible, reliable and easy to tinker with from 1969 until 1972.
