Too Good To Be True? 2014 Corvette Gets Penned By Insider
Love it or hate it, the Chevrolet Corvette is an American icon. For most of its 60 years, the 'Vette's shown that a commodity-focused U.S. automaker can confound expectations and compete with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini. The seventh-generation Corvette — or C7 Corvette — as fan-boys and GM insiders call it — is designed to further confound those expectations.

I'm a little more interested in what the base version looks like. Hopefully it's a little more reserved...

All 3 pics are quite slick. It would be a welcome change for the model. GM has got to consider either making the Corvette a true supercar or making a separate version either above a base version or something mainstream to complement the high performance version.

GM is just missing out on so much coin by not adding performance models using the Corvette name.

I'll reserve further judgement until I see the real thing but quite frankly I was hoping for something more groundbreaking in looks.

If you're looking at the main pic of the article and you block the front of the car up to the beginning of the door with your hand, what's left has "next generation Nissan GTR" written all over it.

That's not a redesign, that's just putting sharp edges into the exact same panels.

That looks quite good. The official Corvette facebook fan page commented on these renderings meaning they give a good indication of how the Vette should look like.

Finally! A decent looking roofline. This change has been needed for several generations now, so it's good to see Corvette designers finally ditching the old antiquated design. The rest of the car looks a bit too similar to the C6 for my taste.

Agree with Limon And T-bone.

A bit overdesigned and not too different from the current model- albeit with sharp edges.

Let me see a base mod and more importantly- how does the interior look?

Yes, the bigger news for the future Corvette would be what has been done with the interior. A Corvette weak point.

that looks a lot like the 599

Looks like Gov't Motors let the Camaro boyz loose in the Corvette design room.
If this is GM's idea of evolution, then I will forget about buying a Vette. This clumsy/clunky design incorporates all the tiresome design elements of the ugly Cadillacs and the boy racer retro Camaro. Very hard on the eyes.
