Lexus SC430 to be replaced by SC430?

There is growing evidence that Lexus will be producing a coupe version of its all-new GS350. Lexus Corporate Manager of Product Planning Ben Mitchell, who was present at the launch of the luxury sedan, declined to provide details about a possible GS-F to compete with the BMW M5.

I am actually a little excited that Lexus is finally stepping up to compete in the performance luxury category, maybe a next gen. IS will be worth a look before I replace my 335

Proof reader have the day off again? Your title says "Lexus SC430 to be replaced by SC430?" Shouldn't that read "Lexus SC430 to be replaced by GS350?"

I've warmed up to the new GS (still hate the interior design though) and I think it would look good as a coupe Build it.

Sizewise that would make it a 6 series competitor. Haven't seen a new GS on the road yet but so far I am not its biggest fan.

Wrong platform Toyota! You need, and would sell, more IS based coupes than you ever would sell a GS based coupe. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you don't have what it takes to compete against the 6-Series, A5 versions, the new Porsche that everyone knows is on the way or the Mercedes Coupes.

Toyota, you need to compete against the Infiniti G37 and 3 Series coupes.

That design will look great in coupe form. Long bonnet with aggressive fascia, huge 2 doors and small bootlid. New GS coupe should be almost as big as CL class but price should be in between E coupe and CL class.

This is pretty inaccurate... if they are looking to compete against the A5/S5, the IS250/350 Coupe will do just that... this new SC needs to be more like an SL550, or potentially a 6-Series competitor... ideally, if they could make it a serious threat to a Porsche 911, they would definitely get some attention
