Which 'Vette Is BETTER Looking? Drawings Spied Today OR Concept From 2009 Chicago Auto Show?
If you weren't paying attention to the newswires today, Jalopnik wound up outing the C7 Chevrolet Corvette.

Well, not exactly, because they were renderings that are allegedly close to the real deal. According to Jalop's head honcho over there, Ray Wert, he didn't want anyone to lose their job over this.

Long story short, there are now three renderings that are supposed to depict the real deal -- that is until we see the actual product at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

With that said, if you don't recall there was an outstanding concept unleashed at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show. To be straightforward, one of the things this concept did was bring the dowdy 'Vette's nature into something MUCH more contemporary.

Think: considering the Corvette's competition, price, and performance, it should keep up in the looks department with the likes of Lotus', and Audi's R8.

So, WHICH do you prefer better? Jalop's rendering OR the Chicago Concept?

Tailpipes don't look right. Reminiscent of the Stingray.

The new one looks more production ready and still looks good.

I guess since the 2009 concept has been in movies, it'll probably be perceived as more of a "cartoonish" version of something that could be better. These leaked sketches seem more realistic of a gradual evolution for the brand.

Though the 2009 concept still looks descent, it has many of the old lines within the overall design. The rear split-window was slick, but a production version can just eliminate that for safety --- the center body lines could stay. Maybe this concept can be refreshed to represent something that they would build today as opposed to something 2-3 years old.

I don't like either...the current model look stunning, even after a couple of years. Just needs a new interior

I prefer the concept, no question. Gorgeous. But... somehow it looks like a $300,000 exotic and not a mid-priced sports car. It wouldn't fit the Corvette's personality at all. However, if Chevy were to make this a halo car called the Corvette GTS or something like that and price it as I suggested above while giving it a luxury interior and truly epic power, I would wholeheartedly approve as long as it offered a stick.

There are differences of opinon on this one...it wasn't that way in 1963 when the StingRay was first introduced. Try again Chevy !

Both versions are just a bit too garish. The updated roofline in the most recent illustration is a big improvement over the last several generations. But, overall, the design needs to be refined and make more timeless. The 64-67 model still serves as the benchmark.

The Stingray concept looks great until you see the rear of the car. It also looks pretty long. It is pretty obvious they were going with a front mid-mounted engine in that design.

The second concept looks great, but a little cartoonish in overall design. I will say the newer sketches give an impression of a better overall design except for the rear of the car, which looks like they copy and pasted from the new Camaro.

The real question is why does GM design always leave the rear of the Vette look like it is unfinished or their budget ran out before they needed to finish the car to start production?
