GM CEO Says Public Is No Longer Angry At Bailout - What About You?
Chairman and CEO Dan Akerson said a poll taken last summer for GM by Washington public opinion firm Peter Hart Research Associates shows that more than 70 percent of Americans have a positive opinion of the company. When the same poll was taken in July of 2009, more than 70 percent had a negative opinion, Akerson said.

"I think America loves a competitor. I think General Motors, Chevrolet in particular, is part of Americana," Akerson said during an appearance at the Detroit Economic Club.

In 2009, GM, saddled with high debt and expensive labor costs, needed $49.5 billion in government loans to survive a trip through bankruptcy court.

I will never again buy a car made with union labor.

I just ordered a BMW that will be made in South Carolina.

I will soon order a VW Passat that will be made in Tennessee.

I will order a Porsche 911 within the next year or so.

GM can kiss my ass.

Cars Are Fun

Oh really? I will never think twice about buying or leasing a GM vehicle.

GM can go to hell along with the UAW!

Just got my 2012 A6; still haven't bought a domestic car built by the UAW pot smoking kronies; And I never intend to either. UAW workers are a bunch of dinosaurs just looking to strike again about something.

Pulp Fiction
Taxpayer: *Cocks the shotgun and takes aim* “Step aside, Dan Akerson.”
*Dan Akerson stands aside and Taxpayer shoots Bailout low in the stomach at medium range - he pumps the slide, ejecting the spent shell*
Bailout: *After taking a few deep breaths and the agonizing pain starts* “F**K!”
Dan Akerson: “You okay?”
Taxpayer: “Naw, man. I'm pretty f**kin' far from okay.”
*Bailout groans in pain*

wow does this guy has no shame?? A rich person saying, naa the poor people are ok don't worry about them.

Every company that got any bailout money is nothing but a thief, they took money that they TRULY did not need, they lied and pretended to need money so they can even make MORE money during hard times.

The bailout should've protected the consumer as well and not just the producer. Ask yourselves this simple question, how many companies/banks got their credit rating affected by the economy? and what happened to the consumers credit rating?

If all politicians truly cared about the people, they would've saved the people's credit rating at least from going into the gutter, they would've prevented banks going after people in all directions who lost their properties. But sadly, they gave money to the banks etc... and told them, you're also free to hunt down your consumers who lost their homes.

Yep, this is what our idiot people vote for criminal politicians to do, to rip this country off.

$$ to GM=$$ to UAW=$$ to democrat politicians=more debt, more $$ borrowed from China and higher taxes.

No thanks. I prefer not to support the cont'd destruction of the US, the raping of American taxpayers and the incestuous relationship between dem. politicians and the unions. I would absolutely buy a Camaro ZL1 if not for the UAW.

I will never buy a Union made car, especially from a company bailed out by the government and had ownership stolen and given to unions. I won't use a union electrician, plumber or carpenter in my house. The unions helped to destroy the American car business. Remember the old saying never purchase a car made on a Monday or Friday? Management was just as guilty for the decline. What else have unions ruined? Oh yeah, the education system. I remember moving to Detroit after college for a job transfer. I was looking for a place to live on a Saturday and decided to stop in the Ford dealer to look at a new company car. I couldn't because of Union rules, car dealerships were closed on weekends in Detroit. WTF!

Yes VAG including Porsche are highly unionized. Further when you buy certain Buicks you are buying Opels made in Germany on Union labor.Look it's all about the banks. They are root of our economic troubles. Not the Unions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That inept fraud obama and his socialist administration just increased the losses (to YOU, the taxpayer) by an additional 27 BILLION dollars. The bleeding from odumbo's nationalization of GM and giving half of it to his communist labor union pals is OUTRAGEOUS. Let's not also forget how odumbo, the born FOOL paid Fiat to take Chrysler. How stupid is obama? How clueless and useless is he?

2012 cannot come soon enough!!!
