Who Is Saving Who, Chrysler Or Fiat ?
If someone had told me that Chrysler would rescue Fiat within two years of their tie-up, I would have said, "Smettila di bere prima di pranzo" -- stop drinking before lunchtime.

What has happened since 2009, when Fiat took control of Chrysler? Actually, Chrysler is marginally ahead of what CEO Sergio Marchionne expected in his original restructuring plan.

Yeah, it will be a force for other domestic automakers to recon with, especially the Cherokee/Durango, Charger/Challenger/300Jeep Wrangler. The rest of the lineup is garbage. My wife had a 200 and a liberty (brand new with only 600 miles on it). the 200 was not impressive at all and was very basic. If they intend to make this an upscale or luxury car, then even Kia has them beat. The liberty was horrific! the engine was so noisy above 2,600 rpm that it was repulsive. It was so noisy, coarse and grainy, just like the old liberty. Interior materials were horrifically cheap. The whole console moved when changing gears. The stereos were crap. Muddy sounding with no midrange at all. The only thing nice about the 200 was the upper dash was soft padding like the 2004 Mitsubishi Galants were. Chrysler needs to get the rest of their lineup on better interiors. You can't have one model with a nicely made interior and the next just crap! Chrysler will NOT be on my new car list for my wife. This week they gave her a Ford Fiesta. I must have expected too much because it was so cramped and claustrophobic in there. it had decent legroom but the way the dash protrudes and is so fat the seating area is very cramped. you feel like you have no elbow room. It did not live up to the hype, and I really thought ford had hit a homerun on this one. The Elantra was a much nicer place to be. Domestics have only made their interiors look cool to trick the buyer. Thats all Domestic car makers have ever been about, scamming and fooling the customer with a bunch of gimmicks. When you are not one of the millions who are mesmerized by the photos, you start to see it is a gimmick and that it isnt' what the photos lead you to believe.

Come on, it may be Chrysler products selling the most and paying the bills, but it's Fiats management and the changes put in place that accomplished this.
