BMW Steals DTM 2011 Champion From Audi For 2012

BMW Steals DTM 2011 Champion From Audi For 2012
DTM Champion Martin Tomczyk seeks a new sporting challenge. The 29-year-old man from Rosenheim will no longer compete for Audi in the 2012 season.

“I won the Championship for Audi after eleven years together. The entire Audi Sport team and in particular Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich have always been behind me throughout the many years we spent together,” explains Martin Tomczyk. “I’m delighted that I could repay the trust by winning the 2011 championship title together with team Phoenix. Despite this joint success, and after careful consideration, I have now decided to accept a new challenge. To conclude, I would once again like to thank everybody with whom I have worked together during my eleven years at Audi Sport and assure every single individual that these years were, in hindsight, something very special.”

Why? BMW is not confident of their car? :)

He probably wasn't confident in Audi's car.

@mclaren... He's confident in Audi and the team. Thats why going to BMW, he's looking for a "CHALLENGE".

I'm pretty sure drivers just want to win championships, and they go where they feel they have the best oportunity.

Hate to break the news to you mclaren428, but Audi is the DTM champion, so highly doubtful. He just wants more racing time which he will not get with Audi due to its deep talent ppol of drivers. Plus Audi has all the experience while BMW has none.

Audi is DTM champion 3 of the last 4 years. Period. I feel ENVY is in the air.

Look, it's likely he'll go to BMW IF he stays in DTM, but neither this article nor any other I could find states for a fact that he will drive for BMW. Either it's pure speculation or Autospies has posted the wrong article to support its headline.
