Consumer Reports Says New Camry Is Better Than Old One - But Can They Still Get A Recommend?
Toyota Motor Corp.’s revamped Camry, key to the carmaker’s U.S. sales revival, is likely to win a favorable review from Consumer Reports magazine, which has been critical of other Toyota and Honda Motor Co. models.

The magazine published by Yonkers, New York-based Consumers Union, a non-profit group, is evaluating the 2012 Camry that went on sale in October, David Champion, senior director of vehicle testing, said in an interview.

Being an Agent009 thread of course the picture is not the 2012 Camry and how about that Passat article today about press fleet cars being tweaked in CR. !

I just read the article, this is the quote from David Champion ( the man who destroyed the 2012 Civic )

' It's better than the last camry. Interior fit and finish is pretty good. It has good quality materials. The seats are pretty good. Fuel economy is a bit better '

".. and how about that Passat article today about press fleet cars being tweaked in CR. !"

Based on past observations here, you gotta know that there's a very low chance of that story making it here.

"unlike the Japanese who pretty much keep foreign manufacturers out of Japan."

Oh I love it, LOL! OK, sportyturbo/Mikey, please tell me how the Japanese, or other Asians, Africans, or other types of people not like you (you being white, heterosexual, Christian) are all bad, and how much more superior you are. Then please throw some bible quotes so we can all laugh some more. Please, can you make this a fun day for me?! I've had a slow day at work.

MikeRomerter, I'm sure there's also statistics to show that hetero men assault women more than homo men. Does that make hetero men all bad?

Here's an idea: rather than having a heated argument about racism, politics, AIDS or any such unpleasant topic, let's have a heated argument about the topic of the thread! How novel! That goes for both of you.

The US Camry is terribly ugly. The back is a total ripoff of the Volvo S60

Of course it will get the recommendation. The Toyota Camry is the class leader in style, performance, reliability, and sales. Toyota hit one out of the park with the new Camry. BMW/Audi/MB could learn a lesson or two from the new Camry. It’s that good.

Of course the NEW Camry will be a recommended car in CR.

The Camry is made in America and they don't need the UAW!

Unless something major has changed with the Camry, it is just way too boring. It is reliable, a reasonable value, screwed together well with good materials, etc., etc. It is not ugly, but neither is it beautiful.
But it has lifeless steering, mediocre handling, too much body roll, etc.
I know they last for 300K, but I couldn't drive one for so long.
