The Detroit Auto Show's Months Away But Here Are The STARS Right NOW
The 2012 Detroit Auto Show seems like it is an eternity away but in reality, it is closer than you may think. In fact, this year's upcoming event takes place on January 9 and 10. That means it's only about a month and change away.

With that said, we know that there will be some standout products -- as usual -- getting their unveil in the Motor City.

Some examples include:
  • Mercedes-Benz SL-Class
  • Toyota Prius C
  • MINI Roadster
  • Porsche 911 (991) Cabriolet
  • Hyundai Genesis Coupe
  • Hyundai Veloster **Turbo**
  • Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid

@Bill

Notice it's not included in my list above.

SL looks just like SLK only longer. MB also like Audi have started saving lot of $$ by having one grille, LED wing mirrors, LED fog lamps, similar headlights for all models. SL should not share these many visible parts with cheaper models and should have more individual design.

@JUGNU

Although I agree it is similar, there's no way they're exactly the same.

Many automakers utilize the same parts across a lineup though, an example being ext. mirrors and LEDs.

Hmmm, sounds just like Lexus. The CT200h and new GS look so similar from the front...

JUGNU,
Totally agree with all your points, I think MB is making a huge mistake by making this car to similar to the SLK. The SL has always been at the top of the class in convertibles just as the S-Class has always been the car to beat in the luxury sedan sector. MB better not mess this one! I personally have always liked this car but I don't like what I am currently seeing.
