STUD or DUD: How Does Hyundai's Veloster Look ON THE ROAD?
As we've observed countless times, it's really tough to judge a car these days based on photos. AND if you're judging a car's looks on auto show photos you're definitely missing a HUGE factor:

How it looks on the road.

We've said it numerous times by now. When cars are up on a platform under harsh lighting, it's just not realistic and doesn't reflect all vehicles in the best light. This goes for ALL vehicles, German, Japanese, American, etc.

With that said, we received some images of the all-new Hyundai Veloster on the highway in bright yellow. We want to know what you think of this car because of its highly controversial styling.

Some have lambasted it's design while others have embraced it.

One thing is certain; when I encountered my first sighting of an orange one a couple of weeks ago, it doesn't look like much else on the road.

Moving along, what say you? How do YOU think the Hyundai Veloster looks while it's on the road?

I have to agree its looks do stand out. This explains why the Veloster is outselling the CR-Z. Considering that Veloster was just released in mid September lets compare sales between the one year old CR-Z (release date August 24th 2010) and Veloster:

CRZ Year Sales
Total 2010 Sales were 5,249
2011 Sales year-to-date are a paltry 10,461 - October 2011 saw just 289 delivered**Compared to the same period in October 2010-Honda sold 1,419 CRZ |Honda reports sales are off by a whopping 78.9 percent!

Compare that to Hyundai Veloster:
Veloster's Sales Numbers (released mid September 2011)
Total year-to-Date 4,558 - October saw 3,777 delivered!

That puts the current take rate of the CR-Z - to around 872 per month versus the Veloster's take rate over a 12 month period to around 2270 plus or minus.

Even fan boys over at Honda's blogs are admitting that the CR-Z is a big major fail.

Hyundai, the Asian brand to beat!

One of the worst designs in automotive history. Will be remembered alongside the Pontiac Aztek and other complete failures.

But Hyundai loads it up with lots of standard equipment, all kinds of electronic gadgetry, paints it in wild colors and prices it at what seems (at first glance) to be an attractive price.

Stupid Americans will end up buying this disaster of a car... Go figure!!

I've seen a few of them driving around Charlotte and I thought it looked pretty good in person.
