Volkswagen is reportedly proceeding with plans to produce a three-row SUV dubbed the VeeDub. JapanEngineering... japanese take existing European cars which are leaders in their class, the reengineer (copy) what they can and improve any glitches. No invention, no creativity, no class.

European cars are leading where it counts because european designers take leadership, and in doing so they bare the risks of quality and reliability, which eventually get worked out.

I go with the LEADERS not the FOLLOWERS. People are waking up to this fact and that is shown on declined sales of Lexus/Toyota, Honda/Acura. This decline has been ocurring way before the tsunami when Lexus had been on a 3 year decline.

Toyota/Honda have been failures in any motorsport event in the western world that requires competition against european brands. Period.

I've been driving new VWs since 2002. Yeah, my 02 Jetta had the window problem and coil packs, but the 06 was practically flawless (nothing significant), and I haven't had a single issue with the Tiguan I bought in June. Get over the reliablility issues. That's history.

And exactly why would someone downrank me if all I"m saying is the truth from my viewpoint? My personal experience with almost a dozen different VWs (myself and family members) has been no significant issues since early last decade. I still have a 2003 Passat that has been flawless. My 02 Jetta had issues, but my 06 didn't.

Yeah, my 2011 was stickered at 38k, and that is too much for most people. But I got a great deal from a fantastic VW dealer (they do exist) and I love the car. My only wish would have been for a diesel version. Maybe in 2015.
