Chevrolet To Buy Back Two Dozen Volts So Far
General Motors Co. said Monday a "couple dozen" Chevrolet Volt owners have asked the Detroit automaker to repurchase their extended-range electric vehicles in the face of a federal safety investigation into fires after crash-testing.

GM spokesman Greg Martin said the company was talking to owners about their concerns. He reiterated that the company will buy back the vehicles if customers aren't happy. He also emphasized the Volt is safe.

"Our actions will be guided by our customers' satisfaction," Martin said.

There is nothing wrong with the Chevrolet Volt battery.
Chevrolet Volt battery is cooled with liquid coolant.
Several hours to days after collision interaction with leaked coolant, batteries, and electronics initiated fire.
Nissan Leaf battery is air-cooled.

Well, maybe because they don't really want to get it right.

I am curious how many of the people who returned their Volt back to GM did so for reasons other than the battery crash-worthiness controversy and just used it as an excuse.
