Comparison Test Review: 2006 BMW Z4 M Coupe vs. 2006 Porsche Cayman S

HEMI - i think you are one seriously delued being. The story is about which car we, as in people who are interested in BMW's and Porsche's would prefer, since you obvious prefer neither please refrain from such uneducated dribble and go comment on a thread about some peice of american junk.

Back to the topic, being a BMW man through and through i'm still not quite sure about the Z4 going hard-top, i love how they have introduced the M3 I6 into the Z4, but if i was in the market for a hardtop sports car like the Z4 or the Cayman, i'd have to go the Cayman as i don't feel the Z4 hardtop has the presence or feel of the porsche in that respect. Being a practical consumer in that price range i would be more inclined to go for the upcoming M3 simply to have adequate space for passengers in the back, if i didn't have the requirement then i'd be seriously considering a Cayman.

Actually, there was an American car that cost more than some of the entrie.

what would you choose?
I'm taking the BMW Z4 Coupé because I think it looks better and it has has lower RPM torque.

Being a former M3 and Boxster S owner, I'd take the Cayman. The Porsche is a car that becomes connected to ALL of your senses and in the long run will prove itself as another timless Porsche.

I'd take the Z4 coupe because I think it look's better than the Cayman, it's performance is pretty much right on par with the Porche's, and it's 10 grand cheaper.

Z4M coz its cooler and i think the porsche is for old ppl and ladies.

I drove both of these cars, and bought a Z4 M Coupe two weeks ago. The BMW is tight, raw, and less civilized than the Porsche. IMHO. I love the car, absolutely love it. Personally, the Z4 coupes looks are outstanding, and they trumped Porsche on styling. The Z4 M Coupe turns heads where ever it goes, and I always find people gawking at the car in the parking lot. Photos do not do the BMW justice, it can only be appreciated live. The Porsche Cayman just doesn't do it for me, and for the price, why not just move up to a 911. The Cayman is outrageously priced with a few options. The Z4 M Coupe is a winner. If you gotta have the Porsche, be prepared to lay out another $15k, not even worth it in my opinion.
