Jovi - Congrats on the winning season and all of the millions you have made by your professional driving abilities! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually these courses are the BEST thing you can do. It doesn't matter if you drive a Cobalt or a Vette to a degree. Everyone THINKS they are world-class drivers, however in reality, put them on a track and they are 5 to 10 seconds a lap BEHIND the pace. Reality is that driving skills are honed by practice, practice, practice and no other way. Maybe that is why races have practice sessions, to practice and hone skills and car for that track. Go to any autocross and watch what it is all about. It is very common for a driver in a Z06 the first time out to post times 5 seconds behind a high school girl in a Miata. Talk about humbling? It can be.

I always snicker at the posts on the site about how fast someone was going and hanging the tail out...LOL .. Fun yes, but probably the slowest way around a corner. If you are sliding then you are scrubbing speed, it is that basic. These classes are for anyone the wants to learn REAL car control or hone what they have. And if a professional instructor is there to assist, all the better. I have SCCA raced since the 80's and I NEVER miss a time to get behind the wheel and practice when I can. It is all part of being successful.

So go hop in your Escort and cut some corners ala Fast and Furious and watch those curbs, they can ruin your apexes. You exemplify the driver I need to look out for when I am on the road, High on speed and low on ability.

PlanoA4... actually, I did it with the 911S in Road Atlanta, Porsche Driving Experience when my brother got his car... Must I state it again, a waste of time for some dumb cars...

btw, I have an A4... and no, I do not like Fast and Furious and Ricers...

PlanoA4, I think its people like you that I have to watch out for... Its people like you that think that the world is a race track... I dont drive like a maniac when I am on the road... that is why you have a private road, and go on the tracks when ever you can... not on the highways... btw, I saw a 93 Accord crash into the side rails of the Merritt Pkwy the other day, because he thought he was a race car driver. His car even came complete with racing liveries for Ricers ala Chinese writings and a big "H" on the back window... I was just wondering if that was you, mr. big shot...

Jovi, You might have an issue with the cars, but it still quality driving education, and actually allot of fun. I went a few years ago, and had a blast, the instructors that were there were fun, but also really informative. I thought I was a great driver, and I have raced some SCCA stuff, but some of the pointers they gave, helped with the driving I do on the street as well. I have paid the huge prices for driving schools, and then saw a few of the same instructors at Rev It Up, and who knows you might actually be impressed. From what i read, you can ride in a hot lap in Z06 corvette too, that has to be fun!!!!

Just a question, if we all love cars, why does everybody get so mad at each other?

Jovi - I am not a street racer by any degree, actually it pisses me off to see morons out there taking risks. My sport driving is limited to the track strictly. The simple fact is 99% of the drivers out there think that they are far better than they really are. It is all an ego thing. If you wanna talk the talk, then walk the walk. If you can drive a Vette fast then surely you can drive a Colbalt equally fast. I say take instruction from a pro and see how good you really are. Those that dismiss these courses blindly are just fooling themselves.
