Do You Agree? Mercedes-Benz Thinks Now Is The Time To Bring Their Small Cars To America
Over the next few years, Mercedes-Benz will bring a line of new compact cars to America, vehicles much smaller than the German luxury manufacturer has ever sold here before.

The cars are supposed to help Mercedes, a division or Europe's Daimler, meet tough new corporate fuel economy standards while also bringing new customers into the "Mercedes-Benz family."

And industry analysts think America is finally ready for pint-sized luxury.

So MB has to bring in the compact cars to meet US economy standards. And how many of these potential compact car buyers will appreciate the free dealer supplied croisants, shoe shines, and loaners to go with the $350 oil change charges?

My ml320 only costs a little over $100.00 at the dealer, and considering the oil costs $8.99 at the local autoparts store It holds over 8 quarts) plus another $14 for the filter. Parts add up to almost $100. owever, Wal-Mart now sells Mobile1 0w-40 European car formula for $6.47 per quart so I do my own oil changes.

There will be far too many small car offerings for the number of buyers, and these MB models will add to that. That is, of course, unless Obama is successful in driving gas prices above arounf $5/gallon. Otherwise many, many small models will have sales results like the Fiat 500

As soon as Obama took office gas prices rapidly fell to just over $2.00/gallon, so you can't blame him for the gas prices, it is the greedy capitalist pigs doing this just like they do with the banking/lending/mortgage industry. Funny how as soon as diesels start being offered here in u.s. automobiles with talks of more automakers offering them, that suddenly diesel skyrockets from being about the same as midgrade to being 40-50 cents higher than premium. by the time you factor in the fuel economy advantages in with the price, you end up giving the capitalist thugs in the oil industry the same amount of money as if you had bought the gasoline powered version.

You give Obama way too much credit, love him or hate him he has almost no input in money matters, presidents are mere mascots, is this news?

The Fiat 500 sales were probably 50% Fiat's fault. The model was intrduced before all the dealers were in place. Further their marketing has been terrible. Studys have shown that consumers are gravitating towards smaller cars in general away from the midsize like the Camry,Accord, etc.Because of the unstable market with oil a lot of people are planning ahead. Besides, small cars now offer the same features that high end models do.If things further destabilze in the Middle East (Iran) what do you think will happen to the price of oil.Nope it's still a good play to offer smal cars here. Its better to get in now and fight to establish a brand identity then to wait.

This MB's biggest mistake! Keep these small cars in Europe. Didn't MB learned its lesson with the old C Coupe?

Yes, bring over smaller cars, but keep it consistent with the MB brand image (like BMW did wth the 1seies coupe & Cabrio) - not like the crappy MB rice-car in the above pic.

I want the new B class. Compact, spacious inside and quite good-looking. Bring it here and give us a nice diesel engine and automatic transmission and I am sold.

I am not big on small cars, I won't ever go smaller than a civic, I am for efficient vehicles that aren't super small.
