VIDEO: The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series WILL Get 6XX Horsepower
You didn't think I'd give it all away in the headline, did you?

According to our friends at Auto Bild, the SLS AMG Black Series Coupe and Roadster -- awesome -- will be receiving 650 ponies, which is nearly 90 more horsies over the standard SLS.

Given that it is a Black Series AMG, we expect it also to feature a bigger set of brakes, the usage of lightweight components, a wider front/rear track and a louder snarl.

However, from the footage below that displays one of the first test vehicles, it seems to sound just as loud as the regular SLS. Loud and unruly is one way to classify it.

My response to this good news is the same as the one I made to the Aventador convertible announcement. I'm excited to see this even-more-exciting-than-the-regular-version supercar hit the streets, but I won't pretend to call it a favourite until a stick is made available.

Most drivers won't be able to handle or control any AMG with a manual transmission. There's to much torque. You have to be a pro or a damn good driver to pull that off, which most of us aren't.

Launching a wheezy Corolla with a manual is one thing. A 550-hp torquemonster AMG? Keep trying.

There are two ways you can overcome that problem. The first is to put throttle limiters on each gear, the other option is to use your brain and limit the throttle position manually lol. Nobody should expect this thing to hold traction in first or second gear at full throttle.
