What happened to Toyota developing its own diesel engines? I mean they already have great diesel V8 in their Land Cruisers, why can't make smaller engines? Why use bad German engines when they develop the best quality engines?

The answer is, they don't want to spend money, which is sad really. I don't like the idea when companies choose the cheapest way out. That's what kills produce quality.
