SPIED: Porsche's Panamera Eyed Under Camo, Changes Coming In 2012
It feels only like yesterday. I was driving the all-new -- at the time -- Porsche Panamera around Road America at the product launch.

On the road it had a supple ride and on the track it was insanely quick. And it was MUCH bigger in real life than I had originally anticipated. After a solid year of sales, it was quickly known that this was one of Porsche's hottest-selling products, ever. What a car!

But after all the accolades and positive -- and negative -- press, Porsche isn't resting on its laurels and slogging down a beer. It's going to be refreshing the vehicle relatively quickly since its launch. As you can see, it's been spotted with test camo in the homeland.

Clearly most of the refinements will be focused around the headlights and LED strip above the front intakes.

According to our friends at Auto Motor Und Sport, the Chinese market will receive a long-wheelbase version. Then it's onto version 2.0...

A coupe and convertible Panamera? I can't wait!

The Panamera is clearly an inferior product with all of its Volkswagen parts. But on a more serious note looks like it will have more 911 likeheadlights. Not sure if it will help the styling much.

Inferior product? You must be joking. The Panamera is without a doubt the most fun of the full-size luxury sedans (although it's actually a wagon).

Where are the VW parts. I thought this car was developed by Porsche in house. The headlights were never the problem in my opinion. Rather it was the "hatchback". It's still a problem on the refresh.

@mini

Yeah, the headlights weren't the problem for me -- from a styling perspective.

It's the butt!

Clearly the diesel and the hybrid models use the "clearly inferior" Volkswagen/Audi engines, those are basically Skoda parts aren't they? Clearly I wasn't being serious and just poking fun at the other thread from a few days ago.

As I've said many times Porsche could take some simple steps to reduce the appearance of the humpback rear end on this car. One way would be to simply extend the C panel windows further and echo the shape of the 911's. This would make the hatcback look less bulky.
