WHICH Car Did The US Market MISS OUT On In 2011 That YOU Want In 2012?
Being that a good majority of our readers are based in the US, more specifically California and the tri-state New York region, we do happen to miss out on some of the other goodies that are shipped globally.
There are a slew of products that, for whatever reason, never make their way to our shores. Some of it is safety-related as the US Department of Transportation (DOT) is a stiff group. That's unfortunate, especially when there is a healthy market for some of these products. In some cases with certain limited editions, we just were not in the equation from the get go.
That's essentially what happened when Audi announced this week that the A1 Quattro would be available for select markets in 2012. Kind of a bummer since we also miss out on the standard A1 as well.
That said,
we want to know WHICH 2011 model year product YOU want for the all-new year.

I will say this.
The new 5-Series wagon is pretty hot. Shame we're stuck with the 5GT though.

Any diesel all-wheel-drive sedan from Audi, BMW or Mercedes (or from any other manufacturer for that matter).

How much do you guys think this A1 Quattro is going to be? $40,000...$50,000?

Good question, not that we'll know in USD, anyhow.
I'd guess if it did make its way to the States it would run $35 - 40k.
I mean, a $40k A1 is a bordering on insanity; however, there's also that Rolls-Royce MINI so you just never know these days...

Let's not forget 40K+ is the price of the 1M.

The 1 series, competes with the A3. The A1 competes with Mini.

Hm.
You have to admit if you were VW and you're trying to make a business case it is a tough call.
Doesn't it seem that VWAG can't get anything right?
MKV .:R32 lacked a proper manual and a "wow" differentiator.
MKVI Golf .:R lacks a DSG gearbox when it's becoming a std. AND it drops the VR6.
Yikes!

In addition...we need the diesel engines that the Asian companies offer in their Euro cars...i.e. Acura TDX wagon with the diesel...Subarus with Diesel-duh.

OK this little Audi is cute, but I think the new Citroen DS5 is far more desirable. The DS5 is spectacular both in terms of exterior design and interior comfort. Design flair is just one of reasons why the Citroen DS5 has won the "Top Gear Family Car of the Year award"

or just search in You Tube for pics and video of the beautiful DS5
