What happens? The dealers basically have the equivalent of used cars with expired warranties.

The consumer purchases at his own risk until something can be worked out.

The majority of dealerships will probably try to liquidate their inventory and then close.

GM said they would honor the warranties.

Secondly, if you liked the design, that dealership should be offering some great deals on their inventory. For those that have more money than self-control, I hear there are a few performance kits on the market that will turn the 9-5 into a monster!
