DETROIT AUTO SHOW: Is Chrysler Secretly Showing Us Their Next Gen Minivan With the 700C?
We don't often cover the subject on Minivans around here for good reason, however with that in mind you can take the quick look at the Chrysler 700C Minivan concept and wonder, "why not?".

You can take it for what it is, but the compared to the competition this concept on the surface at least is a step in the right direction for those hauling a herd of younglings around to elementary school.  Chrysler says this is just a concept with no production plans but why not?

Should Chrysler take the current Town and Country and make a bold move to the 700C?

Yes, that is the next Chrysler minivan, except for the exterior side styling which is just horrible. The exterior side design is horrible because you can tell it was tacked on to the existing design. You can see it in the "b" pillar. The interior looks a little crappy from the seat cushion to the floor.

Why can't someone build a minivan with a diesel engine so it gets good mileage and for heaven's sake make the rear sliding door open all the way to the center of the rear wheel well, so the rear seat can by easily accessed. Nothing like having to go to the doctor's office after contorting into the back to clean up the mess and cup holders. My freebie billion dollar idea, a sliding door that allows access to the rear bench. Something Tesla doesn't even offer with their supposed easy access rear bench...heck, they could put captains chairs back there instead of a bench seat too! Eureka
