STUD OR DUD? Audi Creates The Soccer Mom's Dream With New A6 Allroad
The missing link from the Audi A6 range is finally here: ladies and gentlemen, this is the 2012 Audi A6 Allroad. The new A6 Allroad is with a few millimeters bigger than the A6 Avant, as it is 4.94 meters (16.21 ft) long, 1.90 meters (6.23 ft) wide and 1.47 (4.82 ft) meters tall. We all-know that the Audi A6 Allroad is made to take you almost anywhere and in order to do that, the body of the car sits six centimeters (2.36 in) higher than that of the A6 Avant, features trim strips on the side sills, enlarged fenders and the single-frame grille with vertical slats. Moreover, the A6 Allroad comes with stainless steel covers that protect the underbody at the front and rear of the car but also with a new exhaust system featuring two large, flattened tailpipes.

Dud. "I know, let's unnecessarily worsen a car's handling by jacking it up!"

It will still handle better than an SUV and be more practical and get better fuel economy, and will go offroad just as good or better than any of these crossovers. My co-worker was pulled out by an A6 alroad when his equinox got stuck in the sand. He said the guy hit a button, it raised up and pulled him down the beach till he got to some harder packed sand. These things are surprisingly good offroad. I would rather drive that than a crossover.

All the Allroad owners and drivers I've ever known have been men.

Its there so when you go offroad to protect from chips from rocks and stones and debris being thrown up. I watched the test drive of the first one and was impressed how well it went offroad. It was crossing ditches at an angle and going through mud and snow.

give me the Avant already, I'm one of those rare guys that really likes the functionality of a high performance wagon. I know they're not popular in the US but that's not my fault. m5/550 touring, S6 Avant, give me something dammit!!! And please don't mention the CTS sport wagon.....
