The 2012 Detroit Auto Show press days may now be over, but the lasting effect from what we saw over the past two days has left a lasting impression. Not only were there plenty of product debuts, there were also a handful of surprises.

That includes the let downs, too.

Aside from the downers, we're more curious in the cars that left you with a POSITIVE feeling in your gut. You know, the vehicles that make you say "Wow! I didn't think [company "X"] had it in them."

Lf-LC is absolutely amazing, as is the NSX. The Porsche hasn't changed a bit. They just keep messing with the lower fascia and call it a day. The chevy was also impressive, as I thought their design team was dead.

The lexus showed me that Toyota can design attractive vehicles. But since it wasn't a production vehicle it didn't take my final vote. At the end of the day the ATS with the 3.6L engine and the FE3 suspension trim level got me the most excited for the future. Sedan form is nice, but I really want to pine after a ats-v coupe. Time to start saving!
