Bigger Mercedes S-Class to fill Maybach gap
Mercedes-Benz will expand its S-Class series to fill the gap left by axed ultra-exclusive Maybach brand, according to Dr. Uwe Ernstberger, project leader of the carmaker’s newest series. Mercedes will begin selling its S-Class series next year, and will offer new variants of the car.

Good idea. There are lots of people out there who'd be willing to pay ludicrous money just to say that they drive - pardon me, that they get driven in - the most expensive Mercedes money can buy.

Why not revive the 600 name as well? Perhaps even give it semi-retro styling?

Old news. Mercedes Pullman models to replace the Maybach models.

Pullman models were always offered but their sales are even worse than Maybach models so it would be interesting how Mercedes improve the situation and come up with Rolls Royce and Bentley rivals.

It's like saying why get a Ferrari/Aston Martin/Lambo/R8 when you can get a GT-R.
