GM touts sweeter financing deals 0% Financing

General Motors Corp. will launch discount programs today for six of its eight vehicle brands to pump up sales on the back end of the busy summer selling season.

The program will feature new cash incentives on select 2007 models and a menu of zero-percent financing options on remaining 2006 models that may turn out to be well-timed.

In the face of rising interest rates, a growing number of car buyers are choosing attractive financing deals over other discounts, new research shows.

"They tell me that GM is brewing up the mother of all promotions to counteract this downturn and they will get the full details on 7/18.

The promotion will start on 7/19 and our spies tell us there is even a chance that the promotions will include Corvette's, for the first time ever! Stay tuned!!!"

Looks like 001's insiders didn't know what they were talking about.

The article said 'there was a chance' it would include Corvette's.

It did not say it was for sure.

Most dealers we spoke to had heard that rumor so that's why we included it...

I'm not busting your balls 001, especially not about the Corvette being excluded (as I figured it would be). My point is the deals announced are far from "the mother of all promotions" and frankly are no better (and seemingly worse) than those offered over the July 4th timeframe. Very dissapointing. Hopefully GM will get its collective head out of its ass and decide it wants to sell some vehicles.
