What Does This Tell You? Prius Wagon Takes 6 Weeks To Outsell Volt For 2011
Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) scored a victory in 2011 as U.S. deliveries of its Prius v wagon in 10 weeks topped sales of General Motors Co. (GM)’s Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid that was available all year.

Toyota sold 8,399 of the hybrid wagon, which didn’t arrive at U.S. dealerships until the last week of October, said Carly Schaffner, a spokeswoman for the company. GM delivered 7,671 rechargeable Volts in 2011 and 7,997 in the model’s first 13 months on the market. The Japanese automaker hadn’t distinguished Prius v sales from those of the original one.

Is that the Prius wagon pictured? What a very attractive looking vehicle.

Prius wagon? lol, is it cool to call them wagons again? I thought it was a hatchback.

Prius V is a "new" wagon, the existing Prius is a five-door hatchback, the difference being the big butt on the V that LexSucks is apparently so attracted to.

So does this make the Prius a truck? Apparently magazines also think the outback is a truck, so doesn't that make station wagons trucks? And therefore this Prius a truck? :S

Hehehe, Prius El Camino :) For me a truck is to mainly haul things instead of people and it needs to have a separate cargo area and RWD. The Subaru Baja kind of is a truck. So maybe not this Prius, but definitely the next one.

Normal Prius is a Hatchback......This is a wagon.

Normal Golf is a Hatchback...... There is also a Wagon Version

It's all in the Slope of the rear Window, if it is vertical or almost vertical; it is usually considered a Wagon....if on the other hand it is sloped, it would be considered a Hatch.

Hence why the 530d GT is considered a hatch and the 530d Wagon is a Wagon.

Most SUVs are Wagons, X6 is a Hatch.

I have to disagree with I95SPEEDINGTICKETS here: the regular Prius is a wagon. This is a European-style MPV. The 5-series GT is also a wagon, but one marketed to ignoramuses who think wagons are "gay" (no joke, someone once told me when I recommended a wagon to him rather than a sedan that he wanted something "less gay than a wagon"). The whole "hatchback" propaganda when applied to luxury wagons such as the A7, Panamera and 5-series GT is a move by automakers to get around American anti-wagon bias.

What separates a hatchback from a wagon, as in the Golf and Golf Wagon? Mainly its proportions - a wagon is a long hatchback, basically.

And the X6... is a (weirdo for sure, but I lump it in the SUV category in my mind due to its height: really, what is an SUV but a vertically stretched station wagon or hatchback?

Let Chevy put the Volt technology in an Equinox and watch the sales skyrocket well beyond any Prius- wagon or no.

The Volt= another failure brought to you by the radical left, government motors and obama, the food stamp president. Buy a Volt so taxpayers can be charged $15,000. to subsidize yet another failure in concept and design.
That's fair according to socialist obama.
