AWESOME Or AWFUL: Nissan Juke-R vs. Lamborghini Gallardo vs. Ferrari 458 Italia vs. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
Typically, when I ask "Awesome or Awfuls," they tend to be involving a vehicle's style, some modifications or an intriguing concept. This time though, we're going to be focusing on a race.

Now I am no motorsports expert here -- I'll be the first to admit that -- but there seems to be a couple of VERY interesting videos surrounding the skunkworks project Nissan Juke-R.

Engineers decided to take the Juke and fit it up with the GT-R's powertrain and modified drivetrain. The end results are very impressive, and frankly, pretty badass. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention; it's blindingly quick.

To really punctuate that last point though, Nissan took the vehicle to Dubai. And in a public relations move, it pitted the Juke-R up against the Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 458 Italia and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Predictably, it spanked all three of them.

BUT, was it because of the vehicle's ridiculous capabilities OR was it because the "track" set up was in favor of the Juke-R's grippy all-wheel drive and explosive acceleration?

I guess anyway you slice it, the Juke-R really is the winner at the end of the day regardless. That's because even if you account a favorable track set up to the Nissan, it STILL rocked the competition's world.

Having driven the SLS AMG I must say I was waiting for that Benz's rear end to step out and send it smack dab into the marina or some rich guy's yacht.

**Check out both videos below and weigh in on the comments - did the Nissan have an unfair advantage?

Awesome! The JUKE is impractical and ugly but kicks ass. Yes, the GTR's powertrain gives it an advantage.

The four door Juke is impractical? But I guess the two door orange Lamborghini that sits about an inch off the ground is practical?

Perfect Nissan!
A track setup made to fit your soapbox, and who knows what else!!
Take the same cars to the ring, and then, we will see!

Nah, this guy doesn't like Hyundai. He's a Nissan/Honda/Toyota fan.

I don't care if it's uncomfortably stiff for a daily driver, my next car is a GT-R. WOW!

That's hilarious. An econobox leading exotics around a track... wow. Well done, Nissan. It makes you wonder how much a regular GT-R would be ahead of them by, what with its lower center of gravity.

The Juke-R has a notably shorter wheelbase then the GTR thus its handling with slow/sharp corners wheel be better. Which is partly why this thing was shown off at an auto-x

I've gone to countless events and seen countless youtube videos where old Civics and Neons with 5000$ of mods have schooled boatloads of exotics. performance and prestige are two different things
