For some folks, this will come as a shock. For others, it is the first taste of victory. And for old timers, this is just history repeating itself.

The Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca is not a vehicle to be taken lightly. I know this because I recently saw it's track time around Hockenheim.

Though it may come as a shock to some of you, it beat out cars like the Audi R8 V8, Aston Martin DBS, Ferrari California, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, BMW M3 and even the Shelby GT500.

Now if that doesn't prove something, I don't know what else will.

Ford said it's mission when building the Boss 302 was to take down the BMW M3. Well, in some respects it seems that it achieved its mission...

...or would you argue otherwise?

Watch the sensational lap below...

Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca - better braking performance than Porsche 991, faster than Aston Martin DBS, Audi R8, Ferrari California, BMW M3 in Hockenheim. Acceleration, Drifting and fast lap in Hockenheim with sport auto's testdriver Christian Gebhardt.

For now yes, but wait one year and the M3 will be right back on top. The mustang took 40 years to achieve what the M3 has achieved.

Laguna Seca package runs on racing compound, while others are probably not, so it's not that fair a comparison.....

2011 Nürburgring 24 Hours Results

A Porsche 911 GT3 RSR takes the overall win. European manufacturers took the top 20 spots. A Volkswagen Scirocco took the 26th spot and a Nissan GT-R finished in 36th.

"Confederate flacks", "euro trash" ... so I guess you buy Asian?

I'd never buy a Camaro, Corvette, or Mustang, but Redneck mobiles > whimpy Asian econoboxes. At least there is some personality compared to appliances with no soul.

So if a bunch of skinheads bought M3 in Germany, a Nazi M3 would somehow be better? LOL, get over it.

The Mustang sounds great.

The Mustang's capability is undeniable. Would I get one over any of the cars mentioned? Probably not. The Laguna Seca edition is very much a track focused car, and far from a DD.

If we're talking the standard Boss 302 against say a Camaro, I'll take the Boss 302 anyday. If we're talking an R8, M3, California, those cars are in an entirely different league.

Why are there so many trolls on Autospies these days? Useless posters like "NoMoreObama2012" are spewing their senseless garbage on here and boosting themselves up with their multiple accounts.

I remember the old Autospies days when trolls were hunted down and banned.

Smiles per dollar = MUSTANG. Plus when you drive German steel no one waves at you, tells you while you are gasing up that you are driving their dream car or make young girls squeel. They do when you are driving
a hot Mustang. You simply make more new friends in a Mustang !

So Mustangs make young girls "squeel", huh? Well, glad you've graduated from chloroform and duct tape.

Don't forget you also look at the enormous VAT taxes added on top of the Mustang's price (which is basically a double taxation, because all US taxes are factored into the car's base price).

Why the protectionism?

There are no Michigan representatives mentioned in the link I posted... My guess is you didn't read it. Too many big words for you?

As for the 25% tax on trucks you mentioned, it's a holdover from the Kennedy administration introduced as retaliation for a tarrif placed on American chicken imports. It has never slowed the flow of imported trucks... In the days when mini-trucks were imported, they were shipped with the beds unbolted, thus making their "final assembly point" a port in California.

It hardly equates to a 19% tarrif on anything imported from North America into Europe. Go read a book.
